Once upon a * fish
Once upon a many a time,
There lay one, sun-drunk, dreaming.
It drifted along the shore
When the stars were blinded out by glare.
And there was her with the radiant gleam,
Who took the dear one in her palm,
Stroked it, let her sandals take her as far
As she could on the grainy and sandy way.
She wanted to save the little one,
Drop it into the depths of flowing blue.
But it was crusted in its mediocrity,
And rilleted and grey, could it be done?
I guess some rescue was done that day,
Once upon a very cynical, rosy hour.
She brought it home and hung it tight,
Where all could see its fainting might.
Singing its song of redemption,
Flooding the world without regrets.
Its habitat was a framed wooden box,
Saved by glitter sparkles and much bravado.
Never envisaging this- it shone like a star.
